This role is full-time and based in Amman, Jordan with travel to field as needed.
DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE
• Diverse and complex problem-solving, requiring professional knowledge field experience and an understanding of development and humanitarian work.

• Advice and problem-solving often given over distance with limited information.
• Information sources are diverse, ranging from academic research to data collection in programme and non-programme areas and often requires a judgement on credibility and accuracy of the information.
• Ensures the effective planning and delivery of projects and / or defined areas of programme, including working with partners
• Contributing to project/ programme budget planning and monitoring
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Management and coordination of partner activities in relation to project and ensuring compliance with Oxfam and donor policies
• Monitor and manage research and policy activities in coordination with internal staff, project partner, and external sector stakeholders
• Lead in stakeholder engagement and coordination with solid waste management sector stakeholders
• Manage implementation of innovative pilot project activities in Za’atari Refugee Camp and the hosting communities in Mafraq through coordination of staff and management of project progress
• Oversee and monitor sub-granting activities to circular economy small-to-medium enterprises
• Design and management of awareness raising campaigns (community-based and digital)
• Manage, draft and/or review project deliverables including reports to donor, research reports, and project assessments
• Communication and coordination with internal staff for project implementation
• Communication and coordination with partner organization and key sector stakeholders (municipalities/ministries) and other actors
• Budget implementation based on monthly forecast and follow up activities
• Other tasks as assigned in relevance to the project and other programmatic priorities

Experience, Knowledge & Competencies
Essentials
For this role, you will need to model Oxfam’s feminist leadership approach so we have selected the most relevant feminist leadership practices which we will use for assessment purposes (which you can read more about here):

In addition, an ideal candidate will also have:
• At least 5 years of experience in Jordan in the solid waste management and circular economy sectors in senior role.
• Experience working with INGOs in Jordan
• Knowledge of key actors, strategies, priorities, and sector landscape for solid waste management in Jordan
• Proven experience in coordination and interaction with key stakeholders in solid waste management and circular economy sectors in Jordan
• Experience in managing people
At interview, shortlisted candidates will also be assessed on our values and organisational attributes, as outlined above.
Desirable
• Proven experience in campaigns, research, and advocacy activities for climate justice and/or sustainable development
• Experience in implementing sub-granting projects related to circular economy or sustainability.
