ABOUT MERCY CORPS
Mercy Corps is a leading global organization powered by the belief that a better world is possible. In disaster, in hardship, in more than 40 countries around the world, we partner to put bold solutions into action — helping people triumph over adversity and build stronger communities from within now, and for the future.
PROGRAM / DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
Under the funding of the Australian Development Aid Program, Mercy Corps is implementing the Livelihoods and Environmental Actions for Development Project (LEAD). The LEAD project aims to develop technical and financial capacities that enable smaller, less well off and more rural communities to secure their water supplies and improve their agricultural production through financing for climate programming in the face of climate change, while also improving the overall efficiency of accessing financial markets/digital service and sustaining their livelihoods on a long-term basis. LEAD is a pilot project that will be scalable and replicable in other rural communities that are in the wake of water scarcity.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for the technical and operational implementation of all Mercy Corps activities for the LEAD project that focus on establishing water security through mentorship and infrastructure rehabilitation to decarbonize water systems; adopting best agricultural, water, and irrigation practices; and developing entrepreneurial skills, networks, and agency to access business opportunities, financial markets and digital services.
