Oxfam in Jordan works on humanitarian and development programmes mainly focusing on Gender Justice, Economic Justice, and Climate Change. The HR team supports the country office and works with Country Director and Senior Management Team in developing strategic HR solutions, tools and best practices in people management. This role offers you a challenging and rewarding experience in human resources as well as an opportunity to work with teams making a real impact in fighting inequality to end poverty and injustice. We require a highly experienced HR Generalist with the ability to broker innovative HR solutions embedded in our values.
The role
The Human Resource Manager (HRM) will act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team and will overview the quality of HR business processes including all operational aspects of the generalist HR function. These will be in the areas of HR management information system, policy management, recruitment management, case management, pay and benefits management, employee relations and legal compliance and ensuring best practices in HR Basics. Mainstreaming gender and diversity within the organization, supporting Safeguarding efforts and maintaining health and safety standards will be part of the role. The HRM will also manage the country learning and development plans and implementation. He/she will also develop and update as required the Oxfam in Jordan’s strategic HR and Organizational Development strategy to promote a high performing culture rooted in Oxfam’s values. The HRM will manage a team of bright and talented HR professionals.
The person
To be successful in this role you will have a relevant degree in human resources management or a related field and significant relevant experience at a similar level, preferably in corporate or INGO sector. You will have relevant HR competence in recruitment, workforce planning, HR systems design and implementation, employee relations, pay and benefits management, health & safety management, matrix management coupled with substantial knowledge and experience on organizational development practices and techniques. You will be a team player and will influence and inspire confidence in others using your professional approach and specialist knowledge. You are committed to gender equality and bring passion, humour, creativity, integrity, humility and team building to the HR team and wider organisation.
