First Abu Dhabi Bank Looking for VP & Head of Operational Risk – Control & Support functions (UAEN Only) at Abu Dhabi ,  United Arab Emirates Full Time

Job Description

• Establishing, enhancing, embedding an effective ORM framework and monitoring the implementation by business groups (within UAE)
• Assist businesses by challenging the self assessed risks & controls
• Articulate the residual risks vis–vis the overall risk appetite & risk mitigation strategy of the group and offer risk advisory to business units.
• Ensure timely completion of Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) & validation of control testing of the functions in the business group.
• Assist the business functions within the group to set threshold levels for KRI and monitoring of KRI breaches & action plan implementation.
• Review, analyze & validate root cause of reported incidents in ORM system & escalate to business heads, as necessary.
• Prepare loss data trend analysis and monitoring of loss approvals as per DOA within the business group.
• Assist in completion of Operational risk assessments for projects (ORAP) within the business groups, as necessary.
• Assist business functions in day-to-day activities related to Operational Risk management and any other integration management activities.
• Review and monitor action plans implementation as agreed by business groups
• Conduct monthly portfolio reviews with business groups and highlight operational risk issues for timely actions.
• Act as single point of contact for business groups on operational risk matters.
• Undertake & engage in Adhoc assignments from line Management.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Post-graduate / Management diploma in Business management
• Minimum 12 years of hands on banking experience in at least two or three of the major functions – CIB / Global Markets, in Risk Management / Internal Controls / Operations / Retail & Private banking
• Proven experience in project handling and management with impeccable track record
• Deep understanding of banking products and risks involved
• Experience in developing and implementing Operational Risk Management framework and Internal Controls
• Relevant industry body certifications in Operational Risk, Anti-Fraud, InfoSec or BCM preferred
• Sound relationship management and influencing skills
• Strong analytical capabilities & problem solving
• Proactive self starter & pragmatic solution driven expertise
• Team player & attention to detail /accuracy

Additional Information

• The purpose of the role is to exercise framework monitoring and assurance on business lines across Head Office UAE to mitigate Operational Risk exposure. The roles spans across FAB Group HO entities & Subsidiaries in UAE.
• To maintain independency of risk in challenging the business on matters of divergent views.
