Accountabilty
– Attract and capture client interest in the Sultanate of Oman as a destination by providing quality, cost effective and in-depth proposals which result in competitive and innovative programs (within the boundaries of local laws and restrictions) thereby contributing to GV’s reputation as one of the most innovative and creative DMC in the region.
– Plan, schedule, organise and execute events from quotation through to site inspection and eventual oversight of the operation of an event, ensuring the provision of high quality customer service.
– Manage all deposits and payments, via effective liaison with clients, to ensure that our payment and cancellation policies are adhered to and that all deposits and payments are received prior to a group’s arrival in the destination.
– Prepare detailed action plans and liaise with suppliers and the operations team prior to a group’s arrival to supervise and support the field operations of each project, pre-empting and foreseeing any problems and identifying solutions.
– Plan and participate in the entertainment of clients visiting Oman on MICE familiarisation or inspection trips, maintaining a balance between ensuring cost effectiveness and maximum exposure of the destination.
– Conduct regular hotel and supplier inspections to keep up to date with current changes in order to provide clients with the latest options available in the destination.
– Develop, maintain and enhance long-term relationships with suppliers and service providers to effectively and assertively negotiate competitive rates to ensure maximum profitability.
– Facilitate the standard turnaround/response time (48 hrs) for all quotations & queries to/from clients, ensuring regular follow-up via email or telephone thereby projecting GV as a leading service provider.
Regularly review and input all data/information in the relevant Accounting & Reporting System ensuring accurate financial reports are maintained.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification:
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
Experience:
Commercial/Sales 3+ Years
Knowledge:
Experience in a MICE environment in a coordination or operational capacity
Knowledge/skills:
– Working knowledge of the MICE industry and its demands
– Good knowledge of Oman as a destination and its culture & heritage
– Good knowledge of Oman hotels and the service industry
– Ability to attend entertainment events outside of normal working hours
