Durham School for Girls Doha is seeking to appoint flexible and inspiring Deputy Head of Secondary ( Academic Lead) to join our High Performance learning team school and be part of the Secondary Leadership team. As academic lead this candidate will also be a Deputy Head in the school working directly with the Head of Secondary on whole school strategic development.
We are looking for an experienced leader to join the Senior team and help drive Durham school to its next level of development.
Durham is a sister school to Durham School UK and part of Durham International.
Within the school we are aiming to build and grow our learning provision for the girls. This is a key role to build upon the work done by our previous Deputy Head . The school is committed to giving opportunities to our girls to access learning in different ways and we are looking for an experienced and dedicated leader who can approach the methodology of instruction in an innovative and practical way. The Head of Arabic will need to work closely with the Heads of Departments , Deputy Head (Pastoral ) and all staff develop and build positive relationships.
As Academic lead, the focus on assessment, tracking, curriculum and data are all part of the role. We want a leader to drive an innovative curriculum, a love of learning and promote passion and understanding for the school environment. Raising standards in the school is vital and ensuring that all girls level of IGCSE and AS in the secondary school is developing and ensuring pathways for the girls futures. 2024 will be the second full IGCSE and AS cohort in the schools development.
An understanding of the exam requirements and working with the exam boards, exam officer and the college counsellor is a key to this role.
