TVET Cluster in Jordan is seeking a “Communication Specialist” – for full-time base employment as per the below job profile.
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
University degree in relevant field of work (Communications, Public Relations, Policy Development, International Relations, Journalism)
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience of working in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication) preferably in international context
Fluency in writing, reading and speaking in English and Arabic, knowledge of German language will be an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a confident journalistic style that is suited to the target group
Editorial experience/experience in writing articles and press releases
Proven track record in communications (press relations and PR, journalism, internal communications, lobbying etc.)
Main activities
Professional development and implementation of communication and PR strategies for the TVET Cluster
Production of professional communication and PR materials incl. editing and redaction of material.
Support PR and communication related to TVET Cluster events
Performing general photo and video documentation of activities for the TVET Cluster
Support the TVET Cluster and the counterparts on key elements of document management and knowledge management
Organise informational sessions for the TVET Cluster on use of new or improved communication tools and/or forms
Support in reporting to the commissioning party of the MOVE-HET project
Core tasks
In your role as communication specialist for the TVET Cluster you work on all job orders within your remit. Youare the main contact for advising managers, other staff members and external partners on all issues in the communication area. You provide advice on formulating and producing targeted and relevant PR content that is to be disseminated via various internal and external platforms in accordance with the objectives of the country office.
You clearly communicate the relevant requirements, conditions and restrictions regarding GIZ’s communications and PR strategy to the TVET Cluster and ensure that these requirements are met.
You support in developing the GIZ-communication strategies and guidelines for internal and external communications and ensure an up-to-date implementation in the TVET cluster. This includes overseeing the strategies/guidelines applied by GIZ in general, relevant GIZ-divisions as well as GIZ Jordan.
In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.
You are involved in ongoing process development within your remit, are responsible for knowledge management as well as preparing and sharing documentations of events, etc.
You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.
