Job Description:
v Support the values, ethos and policies of the school which secure effective teaching, successful learning and promote high levels of achievement and self-esteem for all students irrespective of background, ethnicity, gender or disability.
v Communicative link between the school authority and teaching staff.
v Closely work with the Vice Principal (Inclusion Champion) to ensure the institution’s (G&T and SEND) vision is realized.
v Promote inclusive practices by fostering strong relationships, encouraging effective work method, providing guidance and leadership to teachers and staff members.
v In liaison with SENCO develop systems for identifying, assessing and reviewing special educational needs and maintain an up to date provision map.
v Facilitate collaborative meetings to promote implementation of Individual Education Plans.
v Monitor and Support classroom teachers in the development and implementation of specific strategies to lower barriers to learning.
v Collaborate with the HOD’s and SENCO to implement optimal instructional strategies with a focus on differentiation.
v Ensure that parents are well informed about the curriculum, targets, individual students progress and achievement.
v Supervise teaching and learning methods and tools. Encourage innovative and result oriented techniques. Foster differentiation and inclusion.
v Raise standards of individual student’s achievement and ensure that good attainment is maintained by providing a model of high quality of remedial teaching.
v Scrutinize and check records, reports, manuals, results etc.
v Keep abreast with latest DSIB requirements and implement the modified procedures in liaison with SENCO.
v Undertake any professional duties which may be delegated from time to time by the Principal and Director.
Qualifications:
v Bachelors / Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and B. Ed in Special Education.
v Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
v Minimum 5 years of experience in schools with SEND students based on international standards.
v Knowledge of appropriate effective teaching and differentiation techniques, strong organizational skills, leadership and teamwork skills
v Computer proficiency skills.
