Job: Manager, Facilities, Health, Safety & Security Work Location: WCMC Organization: Facilities, Health, Safety & Security Work Days: Sunday-Thursday
Position Summary This position is responsible for providing technical support in the efficient planning and execution of the various facilities in the organization including safeguarding the physical security and safety aspects of the workplace. Job Responsibilities Acts as technical facilities lead to support the academic and research/lab operations. Conducts building inspections and provides recommendations for remedial actions, to ensure that the building fabric and the MEP services function effectively. Oversees the daily facilities-related issues and ensures closure to enhance customer satisfaction. Oversees and monitors the work conducted by contracted maintenance personnel. Supervises MEP and technical services and ensures it meets the required standards and regulatory requirements. Ensures implementation and execution of tasks conform to appropriate standards in Qatar and the US where applicable and audits completed work whilst monitoring customer satisfaction. Develops and establishes partnerships with QF divisions, including but not limited to CPD, FM and HSSE. Oversees the QF permit to work system on behalf of WCM-Q. Liaises across the college for the provision of FM hard services. Conducts regular space audits and supports space planning and related activities. Provides regular reports and updates on building maintenance. Implements revised working practice in line with continuous IP improvement facilities services. Reviews and updates the policies and procedures documentation as appropriate. Reviews method statements and conducts risk assessments for maintenance work and various projects. Assists and supports the FHSS division on related matters of environmental, safety and security matters. Oversees the operations and execution of the soft services facilities. Provides support with emergency planning and undertakes specific duties during emergency evacuations or other unplanned emergencies. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor’s Degree Experience Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering with 6 – 7 years of whole building facilities management experience and related HSE experience essential. Preferred 2 -3 years of supervisory experience inclusive. Master’s Degree preferred. Related professional qualifications, membership and licensing from professional bodies or trade associations are highly desirable. Experience in higher education or medical education setup is highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced knowledge of various aspects of facilities management like construction and maintenance of buildings. Diligent with an ability to conduct inspections and seek ways for continual improvement. Flexible and has a progressive, farsighted outlook. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build professional relationships with stakeholders. Strong organizational and administrative skills with an ability to manage and set priorities. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Fluent in spoken and written English.
