Department Profile:
The Student Affairs Division invites applications for the position of Manager, Student Information Systems in the Student Information Systems Department. Reporting to the Vice President, Student Affairs, the Manager, Student Information Systems must be a proven leader who will oversee and optimize UDST’s Student Information Systems by coordinating system operations, offering technical expertise, collaborating with Information Technology Directorate to address the needs of students, faculty and staff, overseeing student records, maintaining data consistency, accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and ease of access within the Student Information Systems ensuring efficient functioning and seamless management of student data and records.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the development and execution of the strategic roadmap for the Student Information Systems Department in alignment with UDST’s mission and goals through its initiatives and projects.
The successful candidate will oversee the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Student Information Systems by directing, assigning, proactively monitoring the Student Information Systems to sustain functionality and correct all deficiencies through own efforts or outside support services while maintaining a log of all system events to meet the evolving needs of UDST.
The successful candidate will oversee ongoing reviews of IT-related business processes and develop optimization strategies for the Student Affairs Division. This will include working closely with the Admissions and Registration Directorate to provide students access to information on the nature and type of available programs, academic issues, graduation requirements, course equivalencies, tuition assessments, payment of fees and credit memos to assist students in decision making while maintaining a log of all system events.
The successful candidate will strategize and develop the online and in-person registration process, synchronized with the academic calendar while ensuring all information is accurately and consistently maintained in the database as well as, overseeing the maintenance and integrity of Student Information Systems data and databases in collaboration with relevant stakeholders while implementing data security measures to protect sensitive information complying with relevant regulations.
The successful candidate will authenticate the validity of all data migrated from legacy software systems to ensure a seamless transition and data integrity, provide expertise and training in using software platforms and other related tools to support end-users in navigating and utilizing the Student Information Systems effectively and conducti testing of various systems to identify, troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to ensure a smooth user experience.
Other key responsibilities include managing and leading significant, technically complex and critical initiatives, managing teams and resources to achieve successful project execution, analyzing the needs of functional Business Units and establishing priorities for feasibility studies and systems design implementation to develop new and modify information processing systems.
People Management
The successful candidate will develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and service providers and provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates as well as contribute to the development of workforce plans for Student Information Systems Department in collaboration with Human Capital.
Skills
Education and Certifications:
Master’s degree in relevant field is required
Professional certification in a relevant field is preferred
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with 2 years in managerial roles
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English language is required
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred

Highly motivated individual with strong work ethic, leadership skills and a desire to achieve organizational success. Demonstrates excellent time management, attention to detail, analytical thinking, decision-making and the ability to analyze data. A proactive can-do attitude to work, collaborative working and teamwork is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage risk at all times. Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organizations is required. A commitment to service excellence, ongoing training and continuous professional development is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical competency in process, design and efficiency as well as service design and implementation.
