The Applied and Experiential Learning Department invites applications for Instructional Design Specialist.
Your Commitment
Reporting to the Academic Manager, Applied and Experiential Learning (AEL) the successful candidate will support faculty in instructional delivery by providing opportunities for professional development, conducting training workshops and providing individual mentoring to facilitate improved instructional delivery and enhanced learning outcomes in alignment with UDST’s strategy. This also includes: to manage, coordinate and deliver internationally recognized teacher training programs to instructors from all academic at UDST to increase the qualification, profile and skill levels of faculty.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide pedagogical consultation to individual faculty members and faculty-based project teams in the development of curriculum and courses, focused on incorporating appropriate instructional technologies.
The successful candidate will collaborate with subject area experts to assist in the design and development of instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques and appropriate integration of instructional technologies, use of the learning management system and best practice.
The successful candidate will Collaborate with Instructors to design, develop and produce learning materials in a variety of formats including print, graphics, videos, animation, podcasts and other digital media to support their teaching and learning objectives, to enhance learner experience.
The successful candidate will provide training, advice and assistance to Instructors in the use of instructional software, hardware technology tools and methods and the effective uses of multimedia to increase confidence in the use of these approaches.
The successful candidate will collect, analyze and evaluate the use of instructional technologies and related course resources to ensure alignment of course content to quality standards and provide recommendations for improvements to ensure long term learning effectiveness.
The successful candidate will design, develop and deliver professional development and training for faculty in the use of instructional software, technology tools and multimedia to increase the knowledge and capability of Instructors to enrich delivery of their courses.
The successful candidate will Design, develop and update professional development materials for faculty including e-guides, tutorials and other new media training resources to ensure a comprehensive database of available resources.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and production of UDST guidelines in relation to technology integration in curriculum design to promote to a consistent approach across Colleges.
The successful candidate will conduct research into emerging technology-related learning and teaching matters and make recommendations for implementation or purchase of new technology, software end equipment to support instructional development.
The successful candidate will maintain accurate records of faculty professional development activities in terms of individual support and mentoring, workshops, and courses.
The successful candidate will provide quarterly written reports to the Academic Manager, AEL that summarizes faculty PD records, indicates effectiveness and suggests ways to improve faculty support.
The successful candidate will provide perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience out of which 2 in the education sector
Relevant teaching and/or education certifications are preferred.
Language:
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
English is required and Arabic is preferable
Other Required Skills:
Highly detail-oriented individual with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills. Good experience in professional development and conducting training sessions. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times. Knowledge of Pedagogy, Curriculum Planning, Teaching Technologies and Discipline and Grievance Management is required. A commitment to effective working relationships across all levels of the organizations is required. A commitment to ongoing training and continuous professional development is desirable
