What you’ll be doing?
As a Laboratory Manager at UL Solutions, you be responsible for the management and the operations of our of Softlines testing laboratory in Istanbul.&nbsp Here, we undertake product&nbsp
testing of textiles for our Softlines customers, ensuring the products comply with national and international regulatory requirements for safety, quality and sustainability.&nbsp

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for the development and achievement of operating plans, goals and budgets including capital for their designated labs.

You will manage the staff and daily activity of the labs, whilst partnering with management of laboratory operations and business units to ensure customer satisfaction and
achievement of business objectives. You may also participate in corporate or regional initiatives to address and resolve laboratory quality, technical consistency, and testing accuracy issues.

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the establishment of appropriate testing programs and the coordination of laboratory activities within the designated laboratories.
• Works with business leadership to develop, integrate and coordinate business operational plans. Responsible for customer service and delivery of projects and programs for&nbsp
  area of responsibility.
• Implements and executes capacity and capability strategies under the guidance of the Operations Manager.
• Identifies and pursues the development of requirements for test procedures beyond the scope of existing standards and requirements involving unique features and requiring&nbsp
  the use of independent judgment.
• Ensures proper communications with customers to discuss technical and process issues and may negotiate completion dates, and support of customer needs from assigned&nbsp
  team.
• Provides technical guidance to both team and customer for complex technical issues. Ensures quality and adherence to policies. Manages training to support needed capacity and quality of testing.
• Manages the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
• Establishes and maintains the test proficiency training program and competencies for laboratory personnel.
• Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
• Implements policies, procedures, and practices mandated for the laboratories to ensure compliance to ISO 17025 as well as other defined accreditation requirements for the&nbsp
  designated laboratories.
• Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job utilizing the Lean Sigma approach.
• Performs other duties as directed

What makes you a great fit?

We are seeking a Laboratory Manager with proven experience in the textile industry, specifically with exposure to leading Softlines product testing (strength testing, stability,&nbsp
colourfastness, flammability, fibre ) in a laboratory.&nbsp

You should have a university degree in textiles or a related field, with at least 12 years’ experience in industry.&nbsp This will include proven experience as a Laboratory Team Lead /&nbsp
Supervisor, or as a Laboratory Manager.

As a Laboratory Manager/Leader you will have a demonstrated ability to manage department objectives, staffing and budgets, alongside possessing detailed knowledge of product&nbsp
testing methodologies.

A natural thought-leader, you will also have detailed knowledge of industry issues, needs and problems.
