Reporting directly to the Global R&D Chief Financial Officer, this newly created position is pivotal in driving the financial strategy for our Innovative Medicines pipeline, particularly in the dynamic fields of Neuroscience and Immunology. As a strategic partner to the SVP Head of Innovative Medicine, you’ll spearhead sustainable strategies to optimize returns and enhance R&D productivity. Your expertise will illuminate key business insights, leveraging advanced financial models and analysis to inform critical decision-making across the organization.
How you’ll spend your day
Leading financial planning and reporting processes, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving both short-term and long-term planning initiatives for our Innovative Medicine development programs and segments.
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to R&D Innovative Medicine projects and strategic pipeline teams, offering invaluable guidance to enhance forecast accuracy and elevate business performance continually.
Participate in leadership team meetings and internal governance forums, providing strategic finance insights and updates to key stakeholders.
Support business development initiatives, acting as the R&D finance subject matter expert (SME) to ensure financial alignment and optimization of opportunities.
Serve as the finance liaison to external partners, aligning financial projections and commitments to drive mutual success.
Embrace additional ad hoc assignments, showcasing your agility and commitment to delivering exceptional results as needed.
Your experience and qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in economics/Accounting, MBA
Long and proven experience in senior finance roles in Global pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge and understanding of the R&D pharmaceutical industry.
Advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes and expense management of Innovative development programs
Strategic thinking with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced process skills to manage and improve complex cross functional processes.
Financial experience in business development processes- preference.
Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
Fluent written and spoken English
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and intercultural competence.
