About the role
Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as a Senior Operational Quality and Safety Specialist.
As a Senior Operational Quality and Safety Specialist, you will work with Base Maintenance to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained. You will be responsible for conducting audits, reporting on Quality and Safety findings and incidents and developing an improvement plan. You will consistently monitor activities/ tasks practiced in Production ensuring safety standard/s are executed, liaise with the Technical Quality Assurance and Safety team in order to increase awareness in Base Maintenance and assist with reviewing Quality Assurance Management System (QAMS) and Technical Occurrence Reports (TOR) incidents. You will also work closely with Production in coaching and communicating on quality and safety aspects including engaging with other Technical business units take necessary actions, focused on preventative measures.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
- Review focus areas and trends to understand the root cause and work with the Base Maintenance leadership team to address these areas.
- Conduct regular reviews and self-audits within Base Maintenance, report findings identified during the reviews and take necessary steps to prevent reoccurrence. Proactively report any findings and incidents to the Base Maintenance leadership team. Follow up actions and report the issues to the Base Maintenance leadership team.
- Monitor service quality and compliance deficiencies and create and deliver efficient reporting and data trends for a concise corrective action.
- Follow-up on action items from audits and investigations so that they are closed in due time by the relevant owner. Define possible preventative action steps to be taken.
- Work closely with the production leadership team to review and address findings raised in Aviation Quality Database (AQD) for reporting and Quality Assurance Management System (QAMS) for audit management, including Technical Occurrence Reports (TOR), root cause and corrective and preventive actions.
- Assess the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) findings relating to Base Maintenance and assist in finding the root cause and implement a corrective and preventive plan.
Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant College or University qualification with minimum of 6 years of job-related experience.
- Training on QCAA/EASA regulations.
- Experience in continuing airworthiness, safety and quality systems.
- Knowledge of maintenance safety systems / civil aviation authority or quality assurance functions.
- Detailed knowledge of air legislation, particularly ICAO, QCAA, EASA and FAA Regulations.
- Detailed knowledge of Quality and Safety systems, continued airworthiness and aircraft maintenance fundamentals.
- Understanding and application of regulatory requirements.
- Conversant with use of computer software’s, like TRAX, AQD, AMPPS, AirNav, Boeing fleet.
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
