Overview of the Role

Role

This role will partially be part of P&G’s Global Government Relations & Public Policy as GR Ambassador. The focus of the Government Relations scope is:

• Support execution of Government Relations Strategy and Action Plan for Saudi market to improve P&G profitability, competitiveness and reputation.
• Act as Saudi GR SPOC internally and selectively leading P&G representation with Industry/Trade Associations, private/public GR initiatives with authorities
• Work with multi-functional teams within P&G to favorably influence legislation and policies to protect and improve the business profitability and image of P&G and its brands.
• Anticipate & handle issues, understand the business, stay on top of external trends, and provide sound counsel and creative resolutions to meet business objectives with political realities.

The Responsibilities Include

• Affect legislative and executive public policy outcomes by educating, persuading and negotiating directly with policy makers; crafting political allies; building coalitions; and applying the P&G Government Relations resources and expertise to achieve the company’s political and business objectives
• Build and maintain a broad and diverse network of relevant Government bodies/officials, Industry/Trade Associations, at national level
• Supervise legislative developments and identify emerging issues to the company, and in coordination with management develop company positions and priorities on public policy issues which impact P&G’s profitability and driven edge.
• Provide strategic counsel to internal P&G customers on meshing business goals with political realities to address them.
• Proactively build P&G’s reputation with policy makers, as a responsible and supportive corporate citizen
• Represent P&G in industry associations and participate in external events as needed.
• Leverage P&G Saudi leadership in external speaking events building the P&G Saudi reputation
• Build a state of preparedness through effective issue/crisis planning that enables timely and effective action. Initiate and manage successfully issue or crisis teams, including internal and external resources, under a variety of significant circumstances
• Have the full communications and public relations knowledge to help set up a validated communications SPOC on the ground at P&G Saudi.
• Support in developing and driving communications plans and strategies that help build and protect P&G’s reputation.
• Coordinated Company and Brand messaging; ensuring different forms of external communication stay on-point and consistent across board.
• Support in executive communications with leadership over all Executive level communications, scaled multi-brand communications, and Communications capability development across all levels of organization (as the need arises).
• Writing communications content when required, such as press releases and talking points to deliver consistent message across all external communication channels.
• Support execution of Government Relations Strategy and Action Plan for Saudi market to improve and support P&G profitability, competitiveness and reputation.
• Act as Saudi GR SPOC internally and selectively leading P&G representation with Industry/Trade Associations, private/public GR initiatives with authorities
• Work with multi-functional teams within P&G to favorably influence legislation and policies to protect and improve the business profitability and image of P&G and its brands.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years’ professional experience in Communications, Government Relations
• Experience managing and/or leading projects
• Has experience working in a matrixed organization
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written Communication Skills
• Saudi National
