Job Description
The Transport Lead is a highly influential role whose core responsibility is:
- To lead the transport sector in the territory in Win and Do stages of projects
- To support and work with both the Divisional Manager and Unit Transport Sector Leader to support growth in KSA
- Support the development of the Unit transport sector strategy and drive the strategy in the territory
- To enable and support the account leaders, project principals and managers to win work and deliver projects successfully
- Line management of the transport team in the country.
This role comprises activities such as commercial leadership, winning work, project management, and team development whilst role-modeling our cultures and behaviours. Depending on the skillset of the applicant, this role could also cover account leadership for selected sector clients.
The Lead role encompasses the following:
- Use the Transport Sector Strategy to drive business plans
- Translate the regional plan to a specific territory plan
- Commercial leadership of projects in the territory
- Commercial management of the sector in the territory with commercial management team
- Support and drive Transport opportunities with account leaders for targeted clients
- Ensure winning work compliance with MM requirements (STEP, LOC, bid/no bid etc)
- Maintain and update CRM for KSA transport opportunities
- Drive project management competency
- Lead projects and develop proficiency in Connect Business
- Strengthen and diversify project/ design management capability in the sector
- Support and mentor account leaders in the transport sector
- To identify and recruit senior hires and ensure optimal deployment
- To drive knowledge sharing, innovation and thought leadership
- To promote alignment and collaboration both within and across sectors and services
- Identification of new clients, products, services and proposition opportunities, and the development of differentiated and commercially viable service offerings that enable growth
- Manage and support key strategic pursuits and bids by contributing insights and directing the engagement of the most senior client and management
- Role model MM cultures and behaviours
Candidate Specification
- Demonstrable management experience within a consulting engineering practice
- Significant project delivery experience as Project Director or Senior Project Manager, including commercial, financial and technical control
- Extensive experience in the strategy and planning of Transport sector
- Extensive experience in the delivery (planning, construction and design) of major Transport projects
- A track record in client-facing, business development and successful bidding
- Demonstrable experience in developing and fostering strategic relationships with clients
- Motivational and management skills and an interest in mentoring and developing senior and intermediate staff
- Previous Middle East experience is preferred for the role, as is KSA experience
