Job Description
About the role:
Mott MacDonald are looking for a Senior Technician to support the Building Structures team on the delivery of ongoing projects across the Unit.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Develop BIM/3D models of building structures to support the various design and construction stages
- Work closely with project teams to ensure the projects compliance to the contract ensuring adherence to the given policies, processes, codes and, ultimately, ensuring timely implementation and completion.
- Drive and audit project information models and drawings to ensure project is in line with CAD/BIM standards in a CDE environment
- Participate in coordination and troubleshooting sessions with the project teams
- Perform checks on models to ensure quality control and deadlines are met
- Develop drawing packages
- Manage junior draftsmen and ensure correctness of information, drawings and models prior to submission
- Ultimate responsibility of the BIM/3D models and drawings for the projects
Candidate Specification
- Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Extensive previous experience of managing Revit and CAD production in an engineering consultancy, especially in major buildings and structural projects
- Previous experience of BIM and CAD management in the UAE, and Middle East in general
- Demonstrable experience and working knowledge of BIM360, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ProjectWise, Aconex etc.
- Previous experience in implementing CAD/BIM standards, preferably through automation and CAD customization
- Familiar with conducting project related model reviews
- Good knowledge of ProjectWise CDE, and BIM Standards, such as ISO19650 and BS/PAS1192
- Proficient in establishing proper CAD/BIM structures, policies and procedures
- Experience in Rhino/Grasshopper/Dynamo is a preference
