As a key member of Mott MacDonalds UAE / Middle East water business, and as a Technical Leader in
your field of expertise, your key responsibilities will include:
- The delivery of wastewater & recycled water process engineering solutions to our clients across the Middle East region
- Technical advice, support, governance, and mentoring to the Mott MacDonalds wastewater business in your specialised field.
- Lead the delivery of design and commissioning teams, delivering complex treatment facilities in the Middle East region.
- Provide specialist consultancy services covering masterplanning, design, technical advisory, due diligence, and value engineering services.
- Proactively engage in client relationship (Account) management with new and existing clients to better align Mott MacDonalds service offering to our clients needs.
- Support the business development efforts to target strategic pursuits and bring the full capabilities of Mott MacDonald to each opportunity.
- Active involvement in our global and regional practice networks (including taking the role of regional Wastewater Treatment Practice Leader).
- Mentor staff within our specialist practice area and develop a sustainable treatment capability in the Middle East.
- Best practice sharing / knowledge management across regions.
- Champion our innovation initiatives in Middle East.
In addition, you will work to develop Mott MacDonalds presence in the Middle East water sector,
specifically focusing on wastewater, water, and recycled water treatment solutions.
You will be responsible for identifying project opportunities, developing client relationships, and leading Mott MacDonalds marketing efforts to secure large, high-profile projects.
As Mott MacDonald is an international organization with a strong focus on integrated global working, you will be required to provide support to the Global Water Sector and provide technical input into global projects and targeting international opportunities. You will assist in raising Mott MacDonalds position in the marketplace, develop strategic and effective relationships with industry and academia, and develop a leading business position for us in the areas of water and wastewater treatment.
Candidate Specification
Specific experience and skills required for this role:
- Extensive experience in working on water/wastewater treatment projects including design, construction supervision, and preferably operation/optimisation/commissioning
- Well-established reputation in the international water/wastewater treatment sector
- Significant experience and knowledge in trends for water/wastewater treatment technologies
- Process design calculations and simulation modelling, mass balances, sizing, calculations, and chemical/biochemical modelling
- Understanding of complex activated sludge system design for nutrient removal processes based on COD and nutrient balances. At least a general understanding of full stream anammox and N shunt processes.
- Feasibility, concept, and detailed design of treatment facilities
- A working knowledge of advanced water/wastewater treatment technologies
- Ability to undertake process studies, including plant audits/optimization and value engineering services
- Ability to develop innovative and sustainable options for clients including consideration of emerging technologies and energy/process efficiency
- Preparation of investigations, options assessments, design reports, drawings, cost estimates and technical specifications
- Demonstrated design management experience
- Proven ability to market engineering services to clients and lead strategic bids
- Proven experience in providing fit for purpose and successful solutions to clients
- Drive knowledge sharing initiatives with other team members across Middle East and globally
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, experience in building effective business relationships.
- Ability to liaise confidently with both new and existing Clients to develop and nurture strong, long-term relationships
- Flexibility to travel.
