The Program / Department / Team
Mercy Corps manages its North West Syria (NWS) programming remotely from Amman, Jordan. Our interventions in NWS include: Cash and Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL) activities; Water, Hygiene & Sanitation (WASH) and Shelter & Non Food Items (SNFI) activities; as well as Social Cohesion activities. Our interventions are implemented directly through our team based in NWS, and through partners.
The Position
Mercy Corps is looking for a full-time Intern to come support its NWS Area Management Team (AMG) based in Amman with its file retention efforts (filing). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on a daily basis with the NWS Area Management Group (AMG). This possition is critical to support programs to meet the Mercy Corps Prograam Minimum Standards in terms of documentation filling and making them ready for auditing.

Works Directly With: Mercy Corps NWS Area Management Group (AMG) which includes: NWS Area Director , NWS Program Managers (FSL & Cash, WASH & Shelter, Social Cohesion, PaQ), NWS Senior Security & Safety Coordinator, NWS Field Area Coordinator and Support Service Director
Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders
Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. We are committed to actively engaging communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.

The successful Intern will be an individual who combines:
– High interest in learning about the humanitarian sector, and the NWS context (through personal experience in volunteering, supporting charities/associations, etc); and
– Demonstrated a strong initiative and dynamic spirit (through personal experiences); and
– Positive attitude and ability to work independently.
Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
The position is based in Amman, Jordan. The position is fully office-based and does not require travels.
