The Procurement Department is committed to implementing and maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and integrity in the purchase of goods and services. The overriding objective for all Mercy Corps procurement activity is the prompt and effective provision of materials and services to Mercy Corps’ beneficiary populations in compliance with donor specifications.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Procurement Assistant is responsible for enabling excellence in micro and small procurement functions and co-facilitating the process for other types of procurements with his/her direct supervisor. The procurement Assistant will be handling daily progress on Purchase Requests coming to the procurement department from all departments. The Procurement Assistant will work closely with the Procurement Officer and the senior-level team members to facilitate transparent flows of information, as well as to ensure accountability of on-time delivery of goods and services and proper planning from programs.

Reports Directly To: Procurement Coordinator
Works Directly With: Procurement Officer, senior-level Procurement staff, Procurement/Logistics staff, Program staff, Finance Team, (Vendor Data Admins)
Accountability: Accountable to Mercy Corps Procurement Policy and Procedures. Maintains accurate electronic and hardcopy files of procurement file and other relevant files.
