Mercy Corps is a leading global organization powered by the belief that a better world is possible.
In disaster, in hardship, in more than 40 countries around the world, we partner to put bold solutions
into action — helping people triumph over adversity and build stronger communities from within.
Now, and for the future.
As part of its global strategy (“Pathway to Possibilities”, P2P), Mercy Corps is committed to tackle peace and good governance issues with the communities we work with, in order for people to experience less violence, build more cohesive and peaceful communities, and participante meaningfully in inclusive, responsive governance systems.
Mercy Corps’s Peace & Conflict programing in North West Syria (NWS) aims to mobilise community members first and engage them in the identification of their priority needs, and in the elaboration of conflict-sensitive solutions.. The programs’ approaches are rooted in the empowerment of communities through a set of systematic participatory and inclusive processes that are cost effective, replicable and scalable.
The NWS Peace & Conflict Program Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of Peace & Conflic/Social Cohesion, and related programing within Mercy Corps’ NWS program portfolio. S/he provides overall day-to-day technical supervision to Mercy Corps team and partners to ensure that strategic/foundational program analysis and assessments meet minimum technical standards, and contributes to the progress of Mercy Corps Peace and Conflict work in Syria. The Program Manager represents Mercy Corps in external and donor platforms related to the organisation’s social cohesion programming including Clusters, strategy groups, Technical Working Groups and donors. The Peace & Conflict Program Manager is a strong team leader and communicator, able to technically lead, develop, and mentor team members and maintain a strategic portfolio of partner-led programs.
