OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and supports supply chain operations, including purchasing as well as selection of vendors. Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Coordinates and resolves issues regarding existing and new products. Interacts with vendors and Operators to ensure that all requirements are being met. Supports the development of new market opportunities, the opening of new restaurants and the further development of a supply chain infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supports supply chain capabilities in procurement, sourcing, demand planning, warehousing, distribution, logistics, replenishment, inventory management and vendor partner relationships.
· Promotes food safety and quality awareness and compliance among suppliers.
· Develops supply chain, sourcing and operations planning solutions that support brand menu, promotions, operations and growth objectives.
· Assure the continuity of material supply chain to our restaurants, including forecasting, purchasing, and negotiating best pricing and terms for food products.
· Establish and execute systems for the purchasing of food, beverages, packaging, services, restaurant supplies and equipment.
· Evaluate and develop controls and procedures that ensure integrity of supply chain financial results and targets.
· Facilitate total cost improvements through process improvement, technology and supply chain system development and maintenance.
· Build and maintain relationships with distributors, manufacturers, and other suppliers throughout product life cycle, ensuring successful contract negotiations, product quality and service.
· Maintain an understanding of the market for specific commodities through use of benchmarking and competitive information and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
· Manage the information of performance reporting and supporting contractual aspects of supplier and distributor performance.
· Ensure purchasing compliance to protect the brand and contract obligations.
· Performs any other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
· BS degree in a field requiring strong analytical skills (i.e.; finance)
· 5-7 years of supply chain/purchasing experience in food/restaurant equipment industry.
· International experience is a plus.
· Strong analytical skills – must be able to take a complex set of variables and deliver solutions that achieve the desired business result.
· Negotiation – negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve optimal solutions that deliver an ensured supply, smashburger quality, competitive costs, and innovative product development while capturing benefits of an integrated restaurant system, all with a long-term perspective.
· Project Management Skills– accurately develop project parameters, perform and manage project tasks and key deliverables all while choreographing the work of cross-functional team members.
· Computer Skills – advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office based software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Prepare complex presentations using PowerPoint or similar software.
