Supervises the General Radiography Section to assure the highest standards of patient care. Quality and efficiency are maintained in accordance with Hospital and Departmental policy and procedures.
1. Performs hands-on imaging work regularly.
2. Supervises the daily work activities of the technical staff. Plans, organizes, schedules and monitors
operations of the section.
3. Attends collaborative practice meetings with all related departments to ensure active communication and
interdepartmental cooperation as requested.
4. Reviews and modifies section policies, procedures and protocol. Establishes a Continuous Quality
Improvement Program in accordance with JCIA standards.
5. Establishes equipment operation, maintenance and repair records.
6. Ensure that senior staff of the section can handle the supervisor job at any time.
7. Evaluates, counsels and recommends disciplinary action of employees. Evaluates and recommends
candidates for hire as technologists. Participates in the orientation and training of new staff, interns and
trainees.
8. Conducts Section meetings on a regular basis. Provides in-service and continuing education classes.
Schedules leaves and vacations to optimally utilize available staff.
9. Participates in research projects and coordinates activities of personnel involved.
10. Review and modify section policies, procedures and protocols. Establish a continuous quality
improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.
11. Ensure section compliance with Radiation safety rules and regulation of the Hospital in accordance with
KACST and K.A. CARE and other national or international regulatory bodies.
12. Ensure compliance with ALARA principle Role within the section practices.
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology Sciences/Radiological Technology is required.
Grade 10:
-Four (4) years of experience with Master’s Degree or six (6) years of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree including two (2) years in a senior position is required.
Grade 11:
-Four (4) years as Supervisor, General Radiology at KFSH&RC, or (Grade 10) related experience is required.
-Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
-One hundred (100) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].
-Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
