Summary
Responsible for effective utilization of manpower, equipment and warehouse facilities for the receiving, storing and distribution of pharmaceutical supplies to the Pharmaceutical Stores with assurance that Standards of Formulary Management Committee are met. Essential Responsibilities and Duties
2. Determines special materials (refrigerated/frozen) handling requirements for storage of items and directs the use of mechanical handling equipment. Coordinates the efficient distribution of all direct order supplies received with assurance of special handling or urgently required items.
3. Implements an effective Warehousing stock locator system and updates locator system as requirements demand. Maintains a stock storage and rotation plan that ensures stock movement on a first-in/first-out basis with expiry dates and give attention to items requiring special handling as oerishables/refrigerated cytotonic items etc.
4. Ensures that items received have shelf-life according to the established guidelines or as specified in the purchase order and items must be double-checked prior updating the system on a daily basis.
5. Supervises periodic and annual inventories as required to verify actual counts of inventory.
6. Monitors all items through Short-Dated items Report and reports Excess Stocks through appropriate processes to Supplier or to Pharmaceutical Stores or Pharmacy Services for proper handling under the Sharing Program or return to Supplier.
7. Removes expired/nearly expiring items from active location and place them in the designated area according to the approved policy and ensure the timely updated in the system i.e. Transfer, Return/Disoosal etc. before taking appropriate action i.e. return to supplier or initiate disposal request.
8. Coordinates with vendors and processes exchange/replacement of expired/nearly expiring pharmaceutical supplies and reports accordingly.
9. Monitors staff activities to ensure that policies and procedures are observed to meet acceptable professional standards. Arranges staff training, orients new employees, evaluate performance and counsels emoloyees.
10. Prepare employee performance appraisal and prepare recommendation.
11. Maintains Warehouse continuous cleanliness, clearness and secured.
12. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
13. Participates in self & others education, training & development, as applicable.Education
