Organizes, conducts, and directs a biomedical physics service program at the Hospital. Supervises Biomedical Physics staff.
1. CoordinatesthephysicssupportfortheclinicalpatientcareservicesincludingRadiationTherapy,MedicalImaging,MagneticResonanceandRadiationSafety(IonizingandNon-Ionizing).
2. Consultswithclinicalservicesforthepurposeofoptimizingtheinterdepartmentalresourceutilization.
3. Updates,organizesanddocumentsroutinephysicsactivities,providingprecisemethodologiesand controlranges.
4.Establishesreviewmechanismsforassessingtheeffectivenessandcost/benefitofphysicssupport.
5.Developspoliciesconsistentwithlong-terminstitutionalobjectives.
6.Identifiessystemrequirementstosatisfyareasofclinicalinterestorconcern.
7.Advisesofandincorporatestechnologicalinnovationwhereappropriateandfeasible.
8.EstablishesprogressiveperformancestandardsandtrainingprogramsforSaudistoenablethegradualassumptionofresponsibilityforessentialservices.
9.Participatesinappliedandinterdisciplinaryresearch.
10. ParticipatesinDepartment/UnitspecificandHospitalwidequality improvementplanpreferred.
Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Medical Physics or other related discipline from a recognized institution is required.
Nine (9) years of related Medical/Health Physics experience including five (5) years at a managerial/supervisory position with Ph.D., or twelve (12) years with Master’s Degree is required.
.Role as a group leader in implementing, developing or practicing of at least three (3) clinical techniques is required.
.Presentation of at least five (5) of the following: Abstracts, talks and presentations, which should not include those of commercial run-conferences is required. Preferences are given to Society and academic meetings. Indicate whether national or international and names of the talks/meetings.
.Leading role in organization and participation in local and international conferences and workshops as well as academic involvement in education and training activities, and list all the activities in terms of titles, locations, and time efforts of each activity is required.
.A co-investigator on at least two (2) fully completed research projects and one (1) ongoing project is preferred.
.Evidence of scholarly research accomplishment in the form of publications that have originality, novelty, significance, and impact on the field, and/or evidence of clinical accomplishments impacting patient care (quality, safety and clinical outcome) is preferred.
.The required number of publications depends on their quality and the clinical involvement of the candidate, a minimum of two (2) full-length, peer-reviewed publications.
