The duration of the consultancy will be for 3 months.
1) Lead the promotion of Sawt work and its subgrantees using various media platforms and in accordance with USAID requirements. Prepare a communications plan, branding materials and social media engagement plan for Sawt Project.
2) Ensure compliance with Sawt Project branding requirements in accordance with USAID’s branding and marking guidelines and approved messages.
3) Develop templates and guidance for the use of the project team, partners, and beneficiaries to ensure compliance to branding and messaging guidelines.
4) Coordinate closely with external contracted consultants and firms on communications and promotional materials.
5) Create, manage and maintain Sawt’s online presence (webpage and/or social media platforms).
6) Manage final production of (including editing) a variety of technical documents in accordance with proper branding such as project reports, workplan and technical studies.
7) Produce and arrange for producing media and promotional content, such as success stories, presentations, and other communications materials for Sawt.
8) Draft speeches and talking points for Sawt senior management as well as write press releases, one-pagers, factsheets and social media communication for public dissemination.
9) Submit requests to USAID for all media documents, speeches and events in accordance with USAID outreach and communications procedures.
10) Provide media, communication and event management support for Sawt.
11) Undertake the necessary relevant monitoring and evaluation activities in order to determine and ensure the success of the communications and marketing strategies
12) The Consultant is expected to attend meetings with and receive feedback from Internews as needed.
– Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism or related field.
– Minimum 7 years of experience in communications and media relations in the fields of media, civil society and/or development.
– Experience in managing the communications portfolio for USAID funded projects.
– Experience in event management.
– Experience in online presence management (website and/or social media platforms).
– Excellent writing and editing skills in both the Arabic and English languages.
– Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
– Experience in producing multimedia and graphic design is an asset.
