The International Community School (ICS), one of the longest established and most successful international non-proprietary schools in the Middle East, is inviting applications for a part-time (2.5 days per week, including evenings) Clerk to the Board of Governors to join our school for October 2022.
The successful candidate is expected to coordinate Board meetings and Board subcommittee meetings, provide procedural and follow up on legal regulations and guidance with relevant lawyers and ministries, work with Board members to prepare and circulate agendas, take minutes, handle correspondence, coordinate meetings, work with the Board on Board archiving and Board recruitment materials and prepare for Board training and meetings, in addition to coordinating appeal panels and hearings while working with sensitive and confidential information.
The Clerk to the Board of Governors is part of the school administration team and is managed by the Chair of Governors.
Candidates should:
Hold a Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Management Sciences
Have substantial experience of working in a clerical or secretarial role
Have experience in taking formal/professional minutes
Have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
Have strong written and verbal Arabic and English communication
Demonstrable resilience and interpersonal skills
Have effective personal organization skills
Be inclusive and have a collaborative approach in their work
Exercise strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook and google doc).
Exemplify integrity; be able to maintain confidentiality; remain impartial; be flexible with their approach to working hours; be sympathetic to the needs of others; be open to learning and change; maintain a positive attitude to personal development and training;
Hold Jordanian nationality
Experience working in a school setting is desirable
