JOB PURPOSE
This is an opportunity to join the Customer Strategy & Planning (CS&P) Arabia Ice Cream team, focusing on improving both internal and external performance through the lenses of Business Winning Competitiveness and P&L improvement, delivering increased shareholder value. Critically, this role is about building insights (based on data) and developing in-depth, aligned cross-functional action plans to contribute positively to business performance. The role will complement the operational delivery of the commercial plan.
The role will interact with many other functions to turn data into insights and, in turn, into clear action plans. In a new position, the successful candidate will have the rare opportunity to help shape the scope of the role, which will, to an extent, evolve and develop as we go. This role reports into the MET CS&P Lead for Ice Cream and will work closely with Customer Business Development (CBD) teams, other teams such as NRM and Category Management, and Finance and Marketing. There is also the opportunity to interact regularly with many senior cross-functional partners, including the MET IC GM.
It is an opportunity to grow your leadership skills by working with and motivating others, often at more senior levels, taking them on the journey to success, and continuing to strengthen the relationships between the BU and CBD.
The main purpose of this role is to provide executional leadership and influence in the following areas:
Bring the vision of category and brand plans to life through Channel/Category Governance and Operations.
Driving and shaping business performance for the Arabia Ice Cream Business.
Providing leadership and decision-making support – influencing senior stakeholders to deliver results, mitigate risks, and unlock opportunities.
Driving the commercial strategy for Ice cream in Arabia – ensuring strong return on TMI investment.
Developing stronger controls and monitoring of execution, agencies, and budgets.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Performance Management
CS&P Lead on Net Revenue Management (NRM) initiatives, performance measurement and reporting, and building plans with the Brand and CBD teams that deliver growth (profitability, consistency, competitiveness, and responsibility).
Leading on channel performance to identify and action better ways to drive this ever-evolving part of our business, bringing it more front of mind with customer teams and within CS&P.
Course correction plans for identified performance issue customer / category cells, working with CAMs / Finance / Category etc., applying both internal and external lenses. Ensuring the NLT are fully involved, informed, and up-to-date.
Work with CS&P Execs using the insights gained from performance analysis (both internal ROI and external competitiveness) to make recommendations on changes to the Customer Planning Toolkit.
Decision Support
CS&P Lead on data development and identifying how we embed it within day-to-day operations.
Build the perfect store plan for ice cream using the data available to develop action plans.
Key project meetings to represent customer teams: inputs in the form of data collation for account-specific details, e.g., range review timings, promotion activity.
Strategic Choices
Represent CS&P by bringing insights into the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
Through the use of the Category Growth Index, help develop commercial proposals to support category growth.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant area (Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, International Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics)
5+ years of business experience, preferably in cross-functional departments.
Experience in either CD operations, Trade Category operations or Field Sales.
Ability to operate on a cross-national scale and develop remote management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical for success.
Founder’s / Entrepreneurial mentality to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar subject areas.
