Description:
We are currently looking for a Procurement Assistant for our client, a ship management and offshore vessel operating organization in Dubai that provides reliable integrated marine services to offshore oil and gas facilities. The ideal candidate for this role should be fluent in English.
As the Procurement Assistant, you will be responsible for:
Creating and maintaining good relationships with vendors/suppliers.
Requesting offers from different suppliers by sending out inquiries.
Comparing and evaluating offers from suppliers/vendors.
Importantly, being well aware of the local market and procuring goods in person from shops when necessary.
Negotiating the best deals for pricing and supply contracts.
Preparing purchase orders and maintaining records of POs, pricing, and other important data.
Providing procurement support as directed by the procurement manager.
Assisting with internal procurement (administrative needs).
Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
Knowing how to prepare quotations in a professional manner.
Being familiar with local markets, suppliers, and routes in UAE.
Holding a valid UAE driving license.
Having computer knowledge of MS Office & Outlook (for sending and receiving emails).
Possessing knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, as well as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Understanding principles and processes for providing customers and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
