As Director of Finance, you will lead the Finance department and associated operations such that account management, reporting, and interdepartmental and vendor relations are managed to optimise the hotels profitability. Specifically, you will be responsible: * The Director of Finance is accountable for the hotel in respect of understanding and driving financial performance and is responsible to perform all finance activities within the policy, regulatory and contractual framework.* The role will business partner with the General Manager and has accountability for developing excellent working relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including within Hotel Finance, Commercial, IT, Procurement, Human Resources, Operations, Shared Service Centers (where applicable), Owners and Asset Managers as well as Regional Operations Finance.* The Director of Finance works closely with all Business Partners to develop best-in-class hotel Finance teams, including participation in all relevant Finance development programs.* You will be and remain familiar with the management agreement for the Hotel and implement processes and procedures to ensure the Hotel is operated in compliance with the management agreement, reporting issues of non-compliance to your supervising manager.* Maximise profitability and performance of Managed / Lease Hotel* Partner with Central Corporate Functions to identify areas of opportunity to increase revenues or reduce cost accross the estate* Lead commercial financial analysis, monthly forecasts reviews and meetings, annual budgets, cash flow analysis and other financial benchmarking and tools.* Partner with General Manager, hotel management team to identify opportunities for the Hotel (cost savings, revenue initiatives; working capital improvements)* Participate in and lead finance projects as when required.* Serves as a strategic business partner and financial advisor to hotel management and ownership and lead monthly performance review meetings* Prepare capital reviews as required by the General/Hotel Manager and/or Accounting and Finance Departments* Assist and advice department heads in the interpretations and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability* Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximise impact and efficiency* Demonstrate full understanding of Lease / Management Agreement* Provide financial oversight expendeture projects as necessary* Hire, manage, evaluate hotel finance team members and drive high performing culture.* Build competence with relevant team members through training, best practise sharing, recognition and rewards and other professional development opportunities.* Perform other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned or required* Act in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures when required* Ensure the hotel is in complience with Corporate Policies (SPI’s) and govermental rules and regulations and report irregularities and non compliant situations as required by corporate guidelines.* Ensure that the best interest of the hotel, Hilton International and owners are protected and seek advise from the Regional Director of Finance if and when needed.* Provides direction and directives to the departmental team members in the performance of their duites, establishing work priorities and in achieving management objectives.* Oversee and evaluate business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department.* Provide financial oversight of capital expendeture projects as necessary* Abiliti to deliver presentations and effectively present to the Hotel Team, owners and Regional Team.* Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers) Job Roles: Procure to Pay / AP – SSC / HAFS * Review and approval (release) of payroll related payments (online banking if applicable)* Ensure deadline according to local requirements in the payroll process are met Record to Report GL / SSC / HAFS * Ensure that all debtors are billed in a timely fashion* Ensure that all necessary supporting documents is submitted with invoices to subtantiate charges and ensure payment is collected in a timely fashion.* Ensure the timely delivery of invoices within three working days* Ensure that all city ledger invoice batches are posted reconciled on daily basis* Ensure the posting of the invoices is done using the correct debtor codes* Post and reconcile credi card transactions for all the credit card types and follow up with the banks on outstanding credit card reembursment* Handle all credit card quiries* Prepare credit card rebates / refunds with complete supporting documents / approval* Follow up the collection of intern-hotel billings and Hilton Honors redemptions* Ensure proper filling system to facilitate retrieval of information* Post and allocated all payments received accurately and on timely basis* Ensure all monthly debtors statements are sent on timely basis* Ensure all advanced payments received are properly recorded* Notify the hotel on all advanced deposit received* Review and follow up on short paid invoices and credit card balances for necessary action* Review month end aging reports and ensure all reports reconcile and balance travel agent* Check the travel agent commission’s reports on daily basis to ensure accuracy of payments* Prepare and process te travel agent commission reports for both local and international travel agents* Respond to quieries from guests, travel agents, creditors on a timely basis* Assist the Credit Manager with month-end processes* Handle all requests and enquiries in a timely, effcient and friendly manner A Director of Finance serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members.
