Developing Skills for Employability of
Syrian Refugees and Vulnerable Youth in Jordan
Introduction and background information
The objective of the project “Developing skills for employability of Syrian refugees and vulnerable youth in Jordan” is to enhance employment outcomes, particularly for Syrian and vulnerable Jordanian youth and women, and more specifically to develop skills for semi-skilled workers in cooperation with the private sector.
This project is a part of a larger programme, Qudra 2. Qudra 2 is the second phase of a large multi-country, multi-donor programme named “Qudra– Resilience for Refugees, IDPs, Returnees and Host Communities in response to the protracted Syrian and Iraqi Crises”. QUDRA II will be implemented by five European development agencies.
The overall objective of Qudra 2 is “to contribute to mitigating the destabilising effects of the protracted Syrian and Iraqi crises and to better respond to the resilience needs of refugees, internally displaced persons (IDP), returnees and host communities”.
The project “Developing skills for employability of Syrian refugees and vulnerable youth in Jordan”, is to be achieved through the following objectives, a) effective partnerships between vocational training institutions and private enterprises contributing to demand-driven and work-based vocational training, b) training of 2000 Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian youth including 40% women, and c) improving human resource management of private enterprises.
2. Justification to the Internship
This Internship will provide substantive, organisational, and database assistance to the grants officer in Enabel Office in Amman. In this process, the Intern will help validate data, information, and findings of former beneficiaries who had enrolled under the Qudra – Enabel – VT scholarships utilising several means of communication. The Intern will help gain knowledge of the substantive and results-based aspects of the project outcome, i.e., employment, and indirectly to the related dimensions of project outputs in relation to their career sustainability / current status.
Specific tasks to be performed by the Intern
Under the overall guidance of the grants officer in Jordan, and directly reporting to the grants and MEL officers, specific assignments may include but not limited to:

Enabel does not remunerate Interns in any way. However, Interns will be entitled to a transportation compensation for daily commuting from and to the office or any other location where the work is being implemented.
