Reports to: Procurement Manager
Department: Procurement – Business Services
The buyer manages an expenditure for materials and/or services to support the company’s purchasing programs. The position is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the needs for indirect materials and services. Products and services are to be secured at cost quality and at delivery competitive levels consistent with company performance standards. The position is further responsible for the timely planning and scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manages in- and cross-Kingdom procurement and product orders.
2. Engages in supplier/vendor pricing and minimum quality standards negotiations from chosen suppliers.
3. Manages the after-sales service efforts, including product delivery schedules, invoicing and payment.
4. Remains current on market trends suppliers, and maintains procurement pipelines with alternative vendors to ensure standards are maintained.
Job Duties
– Reviews planned orders, creates requisitions for purchased items, and manages approval process. – Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness. – Initiates purchase orders; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required;
maintains close coordination with proponents to ensure timely sourcing activities. – Transmits and prioritizes approved purchase orders and supporting documents to supplier. – Tracks orders and confirms system lead times, delivery dates, and costs. – Reviews, updates, and maintains purchase orders until they are closed. – Confirms payment processing of invoices and resolves delivery and invoice discrepancies. – Studies market prices and trends applicable to assigned responsibilities. – Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management; negotiates prices and delivery terms. – Visits suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources.
Qualifications
Education – Bachelor’s degree in thefields of supply chain. MS insupply chain-relatedd fields or MBA preferred. Experience – At least three years of experience in procurement/purchasing/buying/planningis required.
Competencies – Business Acumen, Communication Proficiency, Customer/Client Focus, Decision Making,
Ethical Conduct, Financial Management, Strategic Thinking, Thoroughness, and Time Management Language Skills – Strong verbal and written English communication skills. Similar Arabic skills are preferred.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Computer Skills – The job requires specialized computer skills. Proficient in using ERP (Oracle) systems, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
