The Portfolio Management Unit at the GIZ Country Office Jordan-Amman is seeking a “Digitalization Partner” for full-time base employment as per the below job profile.
Background
The GIZ Jordan Country Office and projects work data-based, in strong cooperation, and actively use new technologies and digital innovations in all areas of business. The function of the Digitalization partner (DiPa) provide support through trainings and expert knowledge to the end-users1. The position holders’ main objective will be to increase the efficiency of all processes and the effectiveness of service provision in compliance with GIZ rules and local regulations. As a support structure, (DiPa) has access to specialists such as IT partners of GIZ Head Office divisions and DIGITS employees at our division of Global IT Services. The (DiPa) ensures an essential link between the field structure and headquarters and are ambassadors of modern working methods and new technology. The DiPa function will be attached to the Project Management Unit at Country Office. This function is full time.

Core tasks
In your role you work on all job orders within your remit and are the main contact for advising managers and other staff members on all issues in the thematic area, in particular on digital matters such as information management, information security and data protection. This applies both to internal aspects at GIZ and the local digital infrastructure and procurement requests. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to colleagues in bands 2 and 3, and ensure the quality of the commission’s outcomes. You clearly communicate the relevant requirements, conditions and restrictions in terms of your capacity to act.
You also actively participate in the further expansion of the digital network. You support users in the respective country in introducing and using new and existing digital GIZ systems, and also provide guidance with regard to future digital solutions from Head Office.
In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.
The role includes close consultation on information management topics with all internal actors who are driving the digital transformation process forward. You are involved in ongoing process development within your area of responsibility, are responsible for knowledge management and prepare and share documentation
You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.
