BACKGROUND
ConsultUS for Development is a subcontractor to Chemonics International on the United States Agency for International Development’s Jordan Economic Reform Activity (ERA TO1). The program aims to support the Government of Jordan (GOJ) to prioritize and implement economic reforms through coordination with the GOJ, the Jordanian and international private sector, other donors, and Jordanian civil society. ConsultUS will lead whole of government reform efforts focused on key economic growth areas. The Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Team Lead will spearhead efforts to: 1) Inform policy reform and decision-making across multiple GOJ entities; 2) Bolster key GOJ entity strategic communication and outreach efforts, showcasing important reforms and progress made against them. The Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Team Lead will also support cross-cutting efforts across ERA technical objectives and ensure alignment of donor programs with national priorities, enhancing the implementation of reforms, institutional development, and communication/outreach efforts.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Team Lead is equivalent to a component lead for Component 1.1 and 1.2 of ERA, which seeks to increase the capacity and strengthen efforts of key economic-growth-related GOJ entities to champion inclusive economic reforms. This position will drive ERA support to GOJ, ensuring that the ability of GOJ entities to pursue, prioritize, and manage economic reforms and related decision-making is strengthened. It will also support GOJ’s ability to raise public awareness and understanding of economic reform agenda priorities and progress. Lastly, the position aims to ensure cross cutting support to strengthen effectiveness of GOJ and other key stakeholders through the support of the Institutional Support team and the coordination and implementation of institutional strategies, structures, and systems. The Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Team Lead will also support cross-cutting initiatives such as Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) efforts and bolstering the Business Enabling Environment (BEE), the investment climate, export strategies, and private sector analysis and decision making in supporting anchor firms growth in Jordan as identified in collaboration with ERA team leads and management.
