Job Purpose
To lead and direct the effective and efficient management of the Finance function of THE COMPANY , providing strategic direction and developing policies and guidelines to facilitate the achievement of business objectives within the overall company vision and mission and business plan, by ensuring THE COMPANY s sound financial performance and long-term financial health, in line with industry best
practices.
Generic Accountabilities
Strategy Development, Planning and/or Contribution
Act as a member of the executive management team, participate in the development and refinement of THE COMPANY s overall vision, strategy, and objectives, and contribute to the overall process of corporate management and decision making to ensure THE COMPANY maximizes its short, medium, and long-term profitability.
In conjunction with the CEO, formulate and direct the implementation of the divisional strategy in line with THE COMPANY s vision,
mission, and corporate objectives.
Ensure that the overall business strategy and objectives are translated into annual operational business plans and targets for the division and the performance is monitored.
People Management
Provide overall direction for the effective achievement of divisional objectives through effective leadership and by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating team to maximize performance.
Collaborate with the colleagues in the executive management team, to synergize efforts across THE COMPANY for the successful achievement of strategic objectives.
Seek and establish ways to develop talent across THE COMPANY , championing talent solutions in collaboration with divisional experts.
Provide overall direction and guidance to mentor, coach, motivate and challenge the direct reports and their teams, providing opportunities for growth and development.
Organization Structure
Together with HR and the CEO direct the development of the divisional structures so that resources are optimally utilized, and communication can take place in an efficient manner.

Budgeting and Financial Performance
Direct the preparation and consolidation of the divisional budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues; areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Direct the development and oversee the implementation of divisional policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls
covering all areas of division so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
Change Management
Direct and guide the management of change through continuous improvement of divisional systems, processes and
practices considering global leading standards and changes in the business environment.
Reporting
Ensure that all divisional reports are completed timely and comply with THE COMPANY s policies and standards.
Direct the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making. Job-Specific Accountabilities
Financial Planning and Budgeting
Oversee the preparation, review and development of the annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasting of the different functions and projects and collate all the results to form the overall budget, in order to ensure the budgeting and forecasting is carried out as accurately as possible.
Provide advice and guidance to the CEO and the executive management team regarding the long-term capital structuring and sources of funding of the business so that THE COMPANY has funds available to support the achievement of strategic objectives.
Develop financial forecasts for THE COMPANY based on its investment plans, providing support in planning and structuring funding
options so that adequate funds are made available to support THE COMPANY s strategic objectives.
Develop financial and operation strategies to enhance financial position and performance of THE COMPANY .
Lead the discussions with financial institutions with regards to raising long-term and short-term debts and maintain a healthy relationship.
Financial Control
Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting and that effective internal controls are in place.
Oversee the preparation of financial reporting and financial statements in line with corporate policies and procedures.
Direct the assimilation, communication and reporting of performance against the THE COMPANY annual budget to all divisional/departmental managers to ensure that the annual budget reflects all anticipated commercial and operational activities.
Oversee preparation of audit work plans, co-ordinate with external auditors, manage the compliance of statutory audit requirements, review year-end audit schedules finalization for all balance sheet accounts; discuss key audit issues in order to provide opinions on audit matters and ensure the timely completion of audits.
Conduct financial assessments prior to any audits, to ensure all controls, policies and procedures are in place and leading
proactively the closure of any gaps.
Accounting
Oversee the execution of accounting activities and adherence to accounting practices to maintain and ensure accounts accuracy.
Oversee all aspects of financial accounting and perform tactical reviews of outflows and exceptions to ensure accuracy and compliance to enable executive management team to make informed decisions based on adequate and up to date financial data and analysis.
Ensure payments to beneficiaries are made accurately and in-time, reporting back to the relevant functions any deviations / issues.
Liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth coordination across all financial
transactions.
Treasury
Present periodic financial reporting to the CEO on the cash positions of THE COMPANY and the projects versus budgets.
Direct the execution of all treasury activities, oversee planning and management of THE COMPANY s cash flow and financial resources
in support of the business strategy.
Oversee the development and monitoring of policies and procedures within accepted accounting and treasury principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, or any other related field
Experience
