Parts Salesman
Reporting to: Parts Supervisor/Manager
Job Purpose:
To conduct over the counter parts sales in line with company policy.
To determine requirements of customer, present parts and accessories available to satisfy customers requirements, prepare quotation procure part if not available in inventory close sale
To ensure that on first contact, any customer, regular, new or potential, receives a pleasant and courteous welcome.
To ensure that customer needs are dealt with promptly.
Other Dimensions:
To ensure accurate identification of customers needs by means of parts catalogues and computer stock lists.
To conduct all transactions with customers with the utmost courtesy.
To effectively utilize discount structure as applicable.
To keep clean and tidy the working area at all times.
To maximize sales and profitability through satisfaction and retention of customers, to meet sales forecast.
To maintain clarity and precision in all transaction.
To ensure that the companys customers are provided with the highest possible quality service.
To assist the Parts Procurement Manager by recommending parts order quantities.
To ensure outgoing communications are dealt with promptly.
To ensure that the companys customers are provided with the highest possible quality service.
Accountabilities:
To assist all dealership staff in parts identification and if required, replacements.
To assist all training programs to support a developing and effective Parts Department team.
To ensure all paperwork (prepare quotation and inquiry), documentation and requisitions are properly recorded within stock control system.
To ensure that all credit sales are made to an authorized signatory or approved account.
To keep all parts catalogues, manufacturer lists, etc. updated (computer system) and tidy.
To ensure the Parts Supervisor / Manager is aware of stock movement.
To notify Parts Supervisor / Manager of any difference noted when inspecting goods for release.
To maintain good helpful relationships with all customers and their representatives.
To advise Parts Manager / Supervisor of parts not found in location.
To ensure clarity of communication throughout the respective operational location, especially with customers.
To assist, if required, in any marketing activity as required.
To ensure all transactions take place according to dealership policy.
To ensure security of all cash and cheques received
Requirements:
College Graduate
1 2 years spare parts sales experience
Computer literate with ability to use various applications.
Knowledge of electronic parts catalog
