About Us:

The USAID Jordan Tourism Board Activity (JTBA) aims to improve Jordan’s tourism sector, primarily through supporting the Jordan Tourism Board’s (JTB’s) efforts to strategically position and promote Jordan as a distinctive destination. Further, the JTBA will increase domestic and international tourism to primary and secondary sites, boosting the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and enabling economic growth and job creation across the tourism value chain. JTBA will achieve its objectives in close coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) and local and international partners.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced MEL, GESI, and Communications Specialist to oversee the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL) and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) components of our USAID-funded tourism development project. In addition, this role will support communications strategies to effectively share project successes and insights with stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of MEL and GESI principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):

• Develop and implement the project’s MEL framework, including indicators, data collection methods, and reporting systems.
• Design and conduct evaluations, assessments, and surveys to measure project impact and effectiveness.
• Analyze data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for project improvement.
• Prepare and present regular MEL reports to stakeholders, including USAID, project partners, and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with USAID MEL guidelines and best practices.

Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI):

• Develop and implement strategies to promote gender equality and social inclusion within the project.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of project activities on different gender and social groups.
• Provide training and support to project staff on GESI issues and inclusive practices.
• Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to address GESI challenges and opportunities.

Communications:

• Support the creation and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy to highlight project achievements and impact.
• Support the development and management of content for project publications, social media, and other communication channels in Arabic and English.
• Coordinate with media and public relations to enhance project visibility and engagement.
• Organize events, workshops, and presentations to disseminate project findings and foster stakeholder collaboration.
• Ensure all communications are consistent with USAID branding and messaging guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Communications, Gender Studies, or a related field.
• Proven 5–7 years’ experience in MEL, GESI, and communications, preferably within USAID-funded projects or similar development programs.
• Strong knowledge of MEL methodologies, data analysis, and reporting tools.
• Experience in developing and implementing GESI strategies and initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
