Job Summary:
Provide expertise and technical assistance to HSE manager for the implementation of project SH&E policies and procedures. Review, interpret and provide assistance on safety regulations and standards. Monitor project safety performance and conducts project audits and safety inspections.
Duties And Responsibilities
● Identify the common hazards & unsafe practices likely to be found in the workplace & know the appropriate protective measures to be taken.
● Review and assist work groups in the development of site Job Safety Analyses and Risk Assessments and monitor their implementation with the site management.
● Promotions of safety awareness of workforce at all levels through proactive attitude within the project team and contractors
● Incident investigation, root cause analysis and timely close outs of accident/incident reports.
● Timely issuance of corrective action requests for immediate action directly to subcontractor HSE Management.
● Maintain inspections of the job site and report any unsafe acts or conditions to subcontractor HSE for immediate corrective actions.
● Assist in the formal investigation of accidents/incidents & near misses and recommend corrective action measures.
● Preparation and submittal of Weekly & Monthly Safety Reports
● Participate in Emergency drills, trainings, walk troughs and audits.
● Follow up inspections to ensure that corrective actions have been fully acted /accomplished
Reporting line
The HSE Engineer will report to the HSE Manager.
Qualifications & Experiences
● B.Sc. Engineering Degree or equivalent
● Approval from ministry of human resource and social development (level 2) professional
● Internationally recognized Certification (OSHA, NEBOSH, etc.)
● Registered at Saudi Council of Engineering
● 4 years of experience as a Safety Engineers on construction.
● Good English communication skills
● Strong knowledge of computers skills and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
