Job Description
The opportunity
Overall responsibility for design management on a project for a high-profile client, including interaction/coordination with construction, commercial, programme, procurement, and control functions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Devising and implementing a design management strategy for the project, including the establishment of appropriate KPIs.
- Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the design teams and providing reports on a monthly basis.
- Reviewing the design team RFPs and advise on any scope gaps.
- Advising on consultant selection and appointment.
- Managing the concept design consultant/lead consultant preparation of the concept design and its subsequent validation by others.
- Managing the lead consultant in the preparation of the schematic design, detailed design, tender documents, issued for construction drawings, etc.
- Overseeing the main contractor engineering works submissions and supervision consultant’s review and approvals process.
- Identify and manage design-associated risks, mitigation strategies, and/or escalation.
- Identifying the need for additional resources and recommendations.
- Managing the stakeholders approvals of the design and samples.
- Ensuring design management is consistent across project components and phases.
About you
You have a degree or national diploma in civil engineering, or architecture. You have client-facing experience as design manager of a large complex, multi-phase project. You have work experience in the United Arab Emirates, with knowledge of statutory approvals for development and civil defence
