Main Objectives
Responsible for supervising the Hygiene Shift Leaders to ensure that the laid down cleaning schedules are followed as per instructions within Quality Assurance Manual. Ensures that suitable and sufficient stocks of chemicals are available for carrying out the cleaning of the Unit as well as pest control.
Main Duties
o Directs the activities of assigned hygiene group and monitors work scheduled during day duty to ensure that it is carried out efficiently. Includes assisting hygiene staff where necessary and initiating additional work if required to fulfill the department cleaning and sterilizing requirements.
o Trains new and existing staff about the cleaning methods and chemicals used.
o Compiles daily Hygiene Report on activities carried out by Hygiene staff for approval by SQA.
o Carries out pest control duties within and around the Catering Unit and at the Airport Restaurant and, on a request basis, in other areas controlled/occupied by other BAS Departments.
o Orders equipment and disposable items to ensure a minimum and sufficient stock is available.
o Assists in evaluating new cleaning control equipment and chemicals during tenders and when new items are proposed.
o Ensures that the first aid kits throughout the Unit are properly stocked as per Health and Safety Department requirements and International Food Safety Requirements.
o Prepares work orders for Maintenance on defective, damaged, or missing equipment and structure throughout the Unit.
o Collects water samples throughout the Unit and airport for analysis within the laboratory.
o Responsible for the ordering of disposable and non-disposable items such as paper hand towels, date mark stickers, squeegees, etc. on a daily basis.
Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Completion of Intermediate (9 years) education.
Experience:
5 years experience in a similar position.
